Mike Scott now director of Micari Engineering left school in 1989 to pursue a career in livestock and arable farming where he discovered his talent for engineering, repairing farm machinery and finding innovative solutions to everyday problems as his skills and ability developed so did his reputation for quality and innovation in the local area.
In 2000 Mike took the plunge and closed down his farm contracting business to pursue his agricultural engineering business and so
M Scott Farm Fabrications was born.
In 2001 Farm Fabrications was recognised for its achievements when it was awarded the Grantham Journal Business Award for Innovation.
As the farming sector declined and work dropped off in early 2000's Farm Fabrications diversified into other markets as diverse as Grounds Care Machinery, Quarrying and Structural Steel Fabrication and Erecting.
It was decided in 2003 with such a diverse customer base that a name change was in order to reflect this so Farm Fabrications evolved into Micari Engineering Solutions Ltd.
Since then the business has evolved steadily, growing from strength to strength, with investment in machinery and staffing levels, most contracts can now be undertaken in-house giving the customer a high level of quality and continuity of service with short lead times.
Over the years the company has evolved and expanded taking on larger and more complex contracts but always maintaining the high standards and expectations customers have come to expect.
The company values have always from the beginning been:-
"A Customer's Problem Is Our Opportunity to Innovate"
"Do it once and do it now"
"Pride in Great British Engineering"
We view every job with the same importance so our customers know they will get the best result whether it is a garden gate or a complete industrial unit.
Contracts We Have Undertaken
Hanbeck Properties
Southgate Project is a mixed development of retail units and apartments. We were the sole structural steel supplier providing engineering solutions to achieve the increasingly demanding building control standards and a 100% on site delivery record for all structural steel components spanning a very tight 12 month schedule.
Fine Turf
By understanding Fine Turf's specific needs and expectations and working closely with their management team and machine operators we have developed machinery that has increased productivity, reduced down time and extended service intervals.
DW Applewhite Farmers (Grainstore Floor)
In 2008 we were contracted by DW Applewhite to construct a new concrete grainstore floor of 820 square metres encompassing the preparation of the sub base, the laying of reinforcing mesh and poring of concrete. The concrete was power float finished for easy cleaning and increased wear resistance.
Sudbrook Moor Golf Club (Covered Driving Range)
We were closely involved in this project from start to finish advising on design issues as well as fabricating and erecting the main structure while leasing closely with other contractors to maintain a smooth continuity of works.
